MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – Governor John Kasich signed two bills into law Tuesday that rename two area roads for local fallen soldiers.

In Miamisburg, State Route 725 between Heincke Road and State Route 741 will become the Marine Corporal Paul W. Zanowick, II Memorial Highway.

Corporal Zanowick died in June of 2011 while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan.

in Miami County, State Route 55 between Troy and Casstown will be renamed as the Pfc. Jeffrey L. Rice Memorial Highway.

Rice was killed in Afghanistan in July of 2012 while serving in the Army. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
