Postell gets 15 years for killing Army vet

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –  Tarrell Postell, 26, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday.

He shot and killed Jason Rutledge on Ravenwood Avenue in February 2013.

Rutledge had just returned home from serving in the Army.

The shooting happened following an argument while a group of people were playing a game of dice.

In addition to the prison sentence, Postell was ordered to pay more than $6,000 in restitution to Rutledge’s family for burial expenses.
