Mother, pregnant daughter hospitalized after getting hit by car

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman and her pregnant daughter were struck while crossing the road along North Main Street in Dayton.

Police say two cars collided at the intersection of North Main and Helena streets just after 2:00 p.m. Friday.  One of those cars then hit the women.

The force of the crash sent one car careening into a Family Dollar parking lot, striking three other cars.

“I was getting up on the curb and then I heard a screech and all of a sudden I could just tell this car was flying at me right at the pole and I just instinctively jumped and started running in the opposite direction,” said Cindy Mixon, witness.

Both victims are believed to have suffered critical injuries.

No one from the cars involved were reported injured.

Main and Helena streets were back open to traffic around 5:00 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
