WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Final demolition started Friday morning on the former Fraser Paper Mill in West Carrollton.

City officials told 2 NEWS their goal is to make the property at 51 S. Elm St. a viable area for economic redevelopment.

“This land lies at the heart of the community and represents one of the most visible focal points in the community,” Planning Director Greg Gaines said. “Thanks to our partners at the county, it will soon be a usable site for redevelopment and economic growth.”

The mill closed in 2001 and the city acquired the property in 2011.
