Judge boosts bond, Edwards remains in jail


SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Mark Edwards was in court in Clark County Friday morning for a bond hearing.

Edwards, who was captured last Friday in Springfield after running off for three days with a 14-year-old girl, is being held under two separate bonds.

The first bond of $50,000 is for a similar incident with the same girl in September 2013.

The second bond of $375,000 is set for February 2014 incident.

In today’s hearing, the judge amended the $50,000 bond to $500,000, making Edwards’ total bond for both cases $875,000.

Edwards remains in the Clark County Jail on charges of kidnapping, rape, and custodial interference.
