DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – March madness is living up to its name, especially here in the Miami Valley.
The eyes of the college basketball world will be on the Nutter Center Tuesday night as the Raiders play in the Horizon League Championship.
By the end of the week, we could have all four of our Division 1 college basketball teams in the NCAA tournament brackets.
The University of Dayton women will certainly get an at-large bid, the men currently a bubble-team.
The Wright State ladies will pursue the big dance as a number two seed in the Horizon League Tournament which begins on Wednesday.
And as for the Wright State men, one more win and they re in.
The Raiders will host Milwaukee in the Horizon League Championship Tuesday night at 7:00.
The winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Tickets are still available, so let’s sell out the Nutter Center and look good for ESPN’s national audience.
Tomorrow afternoon the Flyers head to Brooklyn.
UD is the number five seed in the Atlantic Ten Tournament and will play Thursday afternoon against the winner of George Mason and Fordham.
Archie Miller’s team has won nine of the last ten and even though the A-10 tourney takes place on a neutral court, Flyer Nation always travels very well.
In the words of Terrell Owens, “Get your popcorn ready. We’re in for an exciting week.”
As for the UD women, Jim Jabir’s team is poised to make its fifth straight NCAA tourney.
The women’s selections will be announced a week from Monday.
