Urbana man admits to texting and causing crash


SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – An Urbana man was indicted Tuesday for his role in a car crash and stabbing.

Anthony Ryan admitted to texting while driving when he ran a red light and hit another car February 20 at Upper Valley and St. Paris pikes.

The victim told troopers Ryan stabbed her in the leg while attempting to pop her deployed airbag with a knife and tried to pull her from the car by her leg.

Court documents show Ryan admitted to drinking seven beers before the accident.

He faces aggravated vehicular assault and OVI charges.
