LEBANON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision between a motorcycle and a car in Warren County Tuesday night.

Jeffery Stewart, 51, of Mason, Ohio, was killed when his motorcycle slammed into the rear end of a car on Butler-Warren Road in Deerfield Township at about 11:00.

Troopers said after hitting the car, Stewart went off the roadway, struck a mailbox and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Stewart was traveling at a high rate of speed. That and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, according to the investigation.

The driver of the car, James Spence, 55, of Mason, Ohio,  was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
