Eaton fire ruled arson, woman accused of cooking meth

EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – Eaton police now say an early morning fire is an arson.

Officers arrested Michelle Grubbs, 33, Friday afternoon on charges of aggravated arson.

Investigators say she was cooking meth in a friend’s upstairs apartment on North Barron Street downtown when the fire started.

A passerby spotted the fire around 6:00 a.m. Friday morning and reported it.

The fire chief told 2 NEWS the bottom floor was vacant.

No one was hurt.

Grubbs is in the Preble County Jail.
