DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton firefighters let a fire burn itself out at a vacant house.

Crews were dispatched to Lakeview and Dearborn Avenues around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after a fire sparked in the back of the home.

Heavy black smoke billowed from the second story window Saturday afternoon.

Fire officials shut down Lakeview and Dearborn Avenues to battle the flames.

Since the home was vacant, fire officials just let the home burn.

The house is a total loss.
