SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – A Clark County woman who took off with nearly $2 million will spend eight years in prison.
Lisa Blevins was convicted in February of two counts of felony theft and ten counts of forgery.
Blevins stole $1.7 million from Kreider Corporation while she was its bookkeeper.
Prosecutors said her former coworkers were the victims. “These employees worked very hard to grow their company. It was their efforts to obtain a profit that she stole,” said Amy Smith, an Assistant Clark County Prosecutor. “They had struggled for years to improve the profit situation and cut costs. It was their hard work that she benefited from.”
Prosecutors say Blevins used that money to renovate her home, pay off debt and buy clothes and cars.
In addition to prison time, she was ordered to repay the company the entire amount.
