Clark Co. man accused of stealing van batteries

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A Clark County man is in jail accused of stealing van batteries from a business.

Chad Ackerman, 33, is charged with theft and vandalism.

Deputies say he stole several batteries out of vans owned by TAC Industries on Old Selma Road in Springfield Township.

TAC Industries provides life skills and employment to people with disabilities. It had to postpone transferring clients the day as the thefts.

Ackerman was arrested after returning a couple of times to a recycling center with some of the evidence.

The theft and vandalism add up to $1,400.

Further investigation into other cases in recent days might result in more charges.
