DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – An ACA health care tour bus made a stop at Wright State University Tuesday.

Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown was onboard to encourage young Ohioans to sign up by the Affordable Care Act deadline, March 31.

Students could sign up for health insurance and get their questions answered.

Students who organized the sign up say they wanted to help their classmates.

“We really weren’t expecting this kind of turnout. It just shows that just because you start something small you can still reach a lot of people,” said Sasha Cahall, Wright State University student.

Ohio has a large uninsured population. More than one million people still do not have health insurance.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley says 19 percent of Montgomery County residents between the ages of 18 and 64 are uninsured.
