Toddler’s autopsy “inconclusive”

NEW PARIS, Ohio (WDTN) – A Preble County Coroner’s Office investigator confirmed to 2 NEWS that the autopsy of a 17-month-old girl was inconclusive and they are now waiting on toxicology results to make an official ruling.

Investigators were called to the trailer home at 52 Dee Drive Monday morning after the girl was found dead in a crib.

Neighbors said the toddler lived in the home with her three siblings and mother.

“It’s just really sad because we’ve known them forever and knew their babies and family,” said Brittany Daugherty. “We’re just really sad for them and everyone that’s involved. It’s just horrible.”

An investigation into the girl’s death is pending. Prosecutors said no charges have been filed provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
