DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Construction on a Dayton Metro Library branch is now underway.
The first nail was hammered into place Wednesday morning at the EC Doren Branch on Troy Street.
It is the oldest branch in the county.
Improvements will include a meeting room, children’s reading space and an outdoor garden area.
“Because this is a restoration primarily, we won’t be able to do as many of the things we will be doing from our other branches,” said Tim Kambitsch, Dayton Metro Library.
The grand reopening of the EC Doren branch will be late this year at the earliest.
