Former school bus driver sentenced

NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) – A former school bus driver for the Tecumseh Local Schools is headed to prison for 20 years.

Adam Overholser, 21, pleaded guilty to five counts of gross sexual imposition in February.

He had a sexual relationship with an 11 year old passenger who rode his bus that lasted a period of several months.

In court on Tuesday, Overholser apologized to the victim and his family.

“I consider it ny highest goal in life to help others and make others happy,” he said. “That is why this has been so difficult for me, not only because of the consequences of my actions, but internally because I know that I have hurt somebody and let countless people down.”

The judge sentenced Overholser to four years on each count, for a total of 20 years. He was also labeled a Tier 2 sex offender.
