DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – AAA says the Miami Valley ranks in the top ten for the most expensive average gas prices.

Not the list we hoping to make.

The average price for a gallon of gas in the area Wednesday is $3.57, five cents higher than the national average.

AAA says it is seven cents higher than this time last week.

Some of the affects on prices right now are the tensions in Russia and a worsening economy in China.

AAA expects the national average price will reach the spring-time peak in late March or early April. The cost is estimated between $3.55 and $3.75 per gallon.

The highest average price of gas ever in Ohio hit $4.17 on May 4, 2011.
