Rash of burglaries reported in Piqua

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – Piqua police are warning residents about a rash of recent burglaries.

Officers say the spike occurred over the past three weeks on the south end of the city.

Homeowners in a six block area near Summit and Leonard streets reported five burglaries, some of which happened in broad daylight.

Police want residents to take extra care and make sure to keep doors and windows locked and keep valuables well hidden.

They say you might want to consider getting a safe to keep valuables inside.
