AUGLAIZE Co., Ohio (WDTN) – The Auglaize County Sheriff says a man found dangling from a bridge died from natural causes.

The coroner’s report was released Thursday morning. It says Richard Moon III, 36, died from asphyxia.

Dr. Thomas Freytag is quoted as saying “There were no injuries. It looks like he died because he couldn’t breathe.”

The sheriff says Moon got his foot caught on a bridge support along Washington Pike on March 9.

Moon fell from the bridge and hanging for some time before being discovered.

“This case is still under investigation by the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office and Auglaize County Coroner. However, we are not finding anything to suggest anything other than an accidental fall from a bridge and Mr. Moon’s foot becoming lodged,” said Sheriff Solomon.

Toxicology results are still pending.
