No felony sex charges for Brookville firefighter

Mon 8am

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Brookville firefighter accused of sexual contact with a teenage girl is not facing felony charges, however misdemeanor charges are pending.

A Montgomery County grand jury refused charges for Joshua Rawlins Thursday. He was arrested earlier this month, accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old.

The prosecutor’s office confirmed that the case through Montgomery County Common Pleas Court has been closed.

Misdemeanor charges will be filed tomorrow, according to Captain Tom Simon with Brookville Police. No additional information was released.

2 NEWS checked with the Brookville fire chief, who said Rawlins remains on administrative leave.
