Homeowner fights fire with garden hose

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Crews are called to a Kettering house after a homeowner unsuccessfully tries to put out a fire.

It happened around 6:45 pm in the 4300 block of Sunray Rd.

Officials said the homeowner was next door at the time the fire broke out. He noticed the flames and tried to put them out with a garden hose.

Crews arrived and quickly knocked the fire out.

Officials told 2 NEWS they believe it started in the bathroom. The cause remains under investigation.
