Shopping for a good cause

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – A local sorority put on a unique fundraising event in Greene County.

The Wright State University chapter of Kappa Delta set up a vendor fair at the Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene.

A variety of items were available for purchase, from a number of vendors, including Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Discovery Toys and Celebrating Home. Prizes were also raffled off during the event.

Proceeds will go to Prevent Child Abuse America and CARE House of Dayton.

“We all grew up in great upbringing with great families and we want to give that to all the children who don’t necessarily have what we had,” said Kasondra Wilson, Vice President of Community Service.

The sorority joined other Kappa Delta chapters across the nation in the fundraising efforts.

This was the first year for the event, but the sorority hopes to hold a similar event in the future.
