Man arrested for assaulting officer

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –A Dayton man is behind bars after assaulting a police officer during a traffic stop.

Antwuan McCoy, 24 was arrested on charges of assault and a warrant for domestic violence.

Officers originally stopped McCoy in the area of East Shadyside Drive for a traffic citation.

When officers pulled his car over, they also discovered he did not have a valid driver’s license and had an active warrant out for domestic violence.

Police ordered McCoy out of the car and placed him in handcuffs. McCoy became agitated and kicked the officer in the left thigh.
