DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton man is behind bars after officers say he threatened a woman with a butcher knife.

Carlos Woods, 38, was arrested on charges of felonious assault, domestic violence, aggravated menacing, and criminal damaging.

According to police, Woods became agitated when he was over at a woman’s home in the 1000 block of Danner Avenue Friday after 1 a.m. and she told him to leave. The victim said Woods hit her with a book bag, kicked her on the kitchen floor, and then grabbed a large butcher knife and motioned his arm as if he was going to stab her. The victim screamed for help and her friend came into the kitchen.

Officers said Woods walked out the door, but before leaving shattered the victim’s kitchen window.

Police caught up with Woods and booked him into the Montgomery County Jail. While he was being arrested, officers found a small baggie of marijuana in his pocket. Woods was also issued a misdemeanor citation for possession.
