Cars damaged after UD NCAA win

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A couple cars were damaged when the University of Dayton celebrated its win over Syracuse Saturday night.

The windows of at least two cars on Kiefaber Street were busted out and the windshield wipers were torn off.

Police were called to the UD campus for crowd control after UD clenched a spot in the Sweet 16 and revelers took to the . Officers from several different jurisdictions donned in full riot gear patrolled the streets to keep celebrations under control.

The University of Dayton’s President, Dr. Dan Curran, made an appearance on campus after the big win. He smiled and posed for pictures with students cheering on the school.

Several people were taken into custody during the celebrations. One UD student was arrested for disorderly conduct at Timothy’s Bar. No word on the total number of arrests and how many of those were UD students.
