DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Sweet 16 fashion is all the rage right now.
A locally owned shop near the University of Dayton is smelling the sweet success of t-shirt sales.
Custom made Dayton Flyer Sweet 16 apparel is for sale at Korporate Kasuals.
“This is the first style we’ve got. We’ve got another style coming in this afternoon,” said TJ Lee, Korporate Kasuals.
Customers are buying the goods hot off the press. “That will be $45.08.”
“My dad wanted one and I got one for myself. I have several, but I needed a new one.”
The Sweet 16 t-shirt is the first of its kind since 1984, the last time the men’s basketball team made it so far in the NCAA tournament.
Production Manager TJ Lee says this is the latest of six shirts they’ve designed since March Madness tipped off for the Dayton Flyers.
“Since the Flyers got into the NCAA, every day there has been at least 20-30 shirts out the door,” said Lee. “We get probably 30-40 phone calls also today, just to find out our hours, find out what styles, what sizes we have left in the shirts.”
Lee hopes the next shirt he makes is for the Elite Eight.
“I hope the team can continue to win. This is awesome. This is great for the city.”
