Gov. Kasich set to sign calamity days bill

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) – Governor John Kasich is set to make additional calamity days available for schools on Wednesday.

He is set to sign House Bill 416 at 11:00 a.m. at the Statehouse.

The bill gives Ohio school districts additional snow day relief from the rough winter this year.

Districts can take four extra calamity days as long as they make up four days as well using holidays and vacation days.

Districts can also make up snow days by adding 30 minutes to a regularly scheduled day.

Dayton and Centerville schools have two days to make up.

Beavercreek has four, Eaton has three, while Tipp City, Springfield and Sidney schools have one day to make up.
