Bomb squad finds homemade explosives in Kettering

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are looking for leads after someone left two homemade explosive devices in a Kettering neighborhood.

Police tell 2NEWS people who live in the area of Grayson Street called 911 just before 11 p.m. Wednesday night, reporting that they heard a loud boom.

When officers arrived, they found an improvised explosive device that had already been detonated. That’s when they called in the bomb squad.

A second, undetonated device was found nearby, on the sidewalk off of Shroyer Road. The bomb squad safely detonated it.

Nobody was hurt.

People who live in the area told police they didn’t see anything.
