HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A Harrison Township road is back open after crews cleared the scene of a fire at a business.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 5200 block of North Dixie Drive around 7:00 p.m. Thursday after people eating at a nearby restaurant called 911.

They found smoke coming from a building at A & A Car Company and quickly knocked down the flames.

“It could have gotten out of hand in a hurry. Just luckily, somebody called it and called us, you know before traffic slows down in this area that’s when we would have had a bigger problem then we have now,” said Battalion Chief Darrin Wiseman, Harrison Township Fire Department.

Officials believe an oil burning stove in the body shop caused the fire.

No one was hurt.

Damage is estimated at $10,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
