2 NEWS cameras caught the arrests of several people during the course of the night.

Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl told 2 NEWS officers made 28 arrests. However, formal charges won’t be determined until Friday morning. The chief also said two of his officers were assaulted.

Waves of students poured from the student housing neighborhood as soon as the final buzzer rang.

Most were just celebrating wildly, but there were some bottles thrown. “It’s a dream come true.  Go UD,” students were screaming.

Police were instructing the crowd to move onto the sidewalk on Kiefaber Street and keep the street clear.

The Flyers beat the Stanford Cardinal to advance to the Elite 8.
