DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton police are moving into position to corral any University of Dayton students who get out of hand, if the Flyers win.

The men’s basketball team is taking on the Stanford Cardinal in Memphis in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.

A hour before tip-off, officers arrived in cruisers and vans on UD’s campus.

Officers tell us they will fan out through the student neighborhood to keep the peace.

After the Flyers last win over Syracuse, students filled the streets near campus to celebrate.

Several cars were damage and fires lit in the street.

Five people were arrested, four of them students.

The University sent out a letter to all students, reminding them to celebrate responsibly should the Flyers make the Elite Eight.

Officials say if it’s an orderly celebration, they will allow the party to go on all night.
