APTOPIX NCAA Dayton Stanford Basketball

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WDTN) – The Dayton Flyers are basking in the glory of a Sweet Sixteen win, but it is now time to get ready for the Elite 8.

The team was excited after their victory over the Stanford Cardinal.

2 NEWS Sports Director Jack Pohl is in Memphis with the team.

Here’s what some of the players had to say about the game.

“We were able to get some points in the paint, so that was really good. And then it was a hard fought game. It was a battle of wills, I guess. It’s just good to come out with a win,” said Matt Kavanaugh.

It’s a blessing It’s only eight teams left and to be one of them, no one in the nation thought we’d be sitting in these seats,” said Devon Scott.

Its great, man. I never would have imagined when I first got here, but we put in the work and we deserve to be here,” said Vee Sanford.
