DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Hot off the presses. Dayton Flyers Elite Eight t-shirts were rolled out Friday.
Atlantis Sportswear in Piqua is officially licensed by the NCAA to print tournament gear. Employees starting printing the shirts at 6:00 this morning.
“We’re continually getting more orders. Of course, we’re running out of red shirts, so we’re going to be switching over to some blue shirts,” says owner Scott Reardon. They are flying off the shelves.
Some faithful fans waited in long lines at UD’s campus bookstore Friday afternoon.
Freshman Caitlin O’Hara wanted to grab some gear before she heads to Memphis to watch Dayton take on the Florida Gators Saturday.
“I’m really excited. I actually live in Dayton, so I’ve been going to the games for years now. So, it’s actually really exciting that they’ve made it this far,” says Freshman Caitlin O’Hara.
Even UD grads are suiting up. “I’m delirious with joy because it has galvanized the entire community at large, including Dayton Alumni everywhere. So, I’m down here to pick up some gear. I’m picking up about ten t-shirts, sending them out all over the country,” explains Mike Snyder.
Atlantis Sportswear is ready for the Final Four too.
The company is expecting a shipment of 30,000 red shirts Saturday if Dayton advances to the next round.
