Ohio offers aid for ‘safe room’ construction

If you are interested in building a tornado shelter at your home, you may be eligible for some funding help.

The Ohio Safe Room Rebate Program is being offered by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

Thirty-nine safe rooms will pick up funding help at random.

It will pay for about 75 percent of the cost to install an extreme wind shelter above or buried near the house.

To apply, you have until April 18 and do so Ohio’s EMA website https://ohiosharpp.ema.state.oh.us/saferoom2014/.
