Smoke surrounds crews battling fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Massive amounts of smoke filled the air as crews worked to battle a fire in Dayton.

Firefighters were called to Harshman St. & E. Second St. around 5:15 pm Wednesday. Smoke could be seen from several miles away.

The fire broke out at the Harris Thomas Drop Forge Co. building.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. Arson investigators were called to the scene because the building was vacant.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor foot injuries.
