A trip by Trotwood officials to Target headquarters in Minnesota does not keep the store on Shiloh Springs open.  Mayor Joyce Cameron and City Manager Michael Lucking traveled to Minneapolis earlier this week, armed with more than two thousand signatures petitioning Target executives for a reprieve from the scheduled May 3rd closing.  Target’s response was an appreciation for the meeting, but the store will close anyway.

Lucking said he wanted to make sure the 120 thousand square foot building will not present blight, but Target promises its upkeep as well as electronic surveillance until it can be sold. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
