MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – Miamisburg residents can return to business as usual following their evacuation earlier Thursday.

Homes and businesses were evacuated in parts of Miamisburg while others were told to shut off their air systems as police and firefighters dealt with a potentially hazardous situation.

Authorities are on the scene of 2444 Maue Road, near the jog between Lyons and Maue Roads and confirm they are making evacuations.

Our crews encountered several roadblocks in the area as police are instructing residents, employees of nearby businesses and onlookers to stay out of the area.

Officials at nearby Sycamore Hospital tells 2 NEWS they were not letting anyone in or out of the hospital and closed the air handling system. Hospital officials say they took the steps as a precaution due to smoke in the area. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
