Heavy rains, gusty winds, slippery commute

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The entire Miami Valley is waking up to heavy rains and gusty winds that will could make for a slippery morning commute.

“Some roadways that are prone to high water may be closed today,” advises 2 NEWS Meteorologist Tara Hastings. “Make sure you ‘turn around, don’t drown’ if you see a flooded roadway.”

The storm will move eastward by the end of the morning and there is a chance of sunshine for the late afternoon.

The day starts warm, with temperatures starting in the 60s, but falling into the 50s by the afternoon as a cold front clears the area.

Friday night will be chilly with a low of 34.

High pressure builds into the area for the weekend, bringing cooler temperatures on Saturday with lots of sunshine and a high in he mid 50s.

Highs will rise to about 60 on Sunday.
