BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) — The stakes were high at this year’s Submarine House Cheese Steak Challenge with hopes to continue to raise awareness and money for Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Seven contestants faced off in an eating tournament at the Submarine House on Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek Saturday afternoon.

The winner of the fourth annual Super Duper Cheese Steak Challenge was crowned Cheese Steak Champion. More than $17,000 dollars was also awarded to Dayton Children’s as part of the event.

“The contest has been so successful that we waned to bring it back, give even more money to Dayton Children’s as well as engage those who might not be up for the contest — but are loyal Submarine House fans nonetheless,” said Brody Danner, franchise owner and operator.

One lucky Submarine House patron also walked away with $10,000.
