Coroner IDs Harrison Twp. crash victim


HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was killed after crashing his car into a pole Saturday night.

The deadly accident happened in the area of North Main Street and West Melford Avenue around 10:30.

Charles G. Smith, 53, of Harrison Township, was driving a 1995 Ford van south on North Main Street and went of the right side of the roadway hitting a pole, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s investigators.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner has not ruled on the exact cause of death.
