Police investigate possible shooting after robbery

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are investigating a shooting late Sunday night after a victim shows up at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Police taped off an apartment at the 3700 block of East Cornell Woods Drive after a man broke into it. Shattered glass was spread across the back porch after police say a suspect in a mask hit the window with a glass.

The victim was approached by the man with a gun and told to get back. The suspect grabbed a leather jacket and ran out the front door.

Witnesses told police as the suspect fled, another man chased him to the corner of East Cornell Woods Drive and Gettysburg Avenue.

Twenty minutes later, police received a call about a victim showing up at Good Samaritan hospital with a gunshot wound on his left side. He was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital for recovery.

Police are trying to determine whether to the two incidents are connected. Anyone with information is asked to call Dayton Police at 333-COPS or CrimeStoppers at 222-STOP.
