DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – It will take $100,000 for a man accused of aggravated burglary to get out of jail.

John Riggs, Jr. was in Dayton Municipal Court Monday. The judge assigned him a public defender.

He also set the high bond.

Riggs is accused of breaking into a home on Deeds Avenue Saturday. The 82 year old victim told police Riggs tried to smother him with a pillow.

Officers believe the victim may have been targeted because he has lent money to neighbors in the past.

Riggs is expected back in court April 14 for a preliminary hearing.
