UD Flyers hoops star accused of assault

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A University of Dayton basketball player is accused of assault and domestic violence.

The University of Dayton confirms to 2 NEWS that Devon Scott faces charges in Dayton Municipal Court.

University officials released the following statement:

University of Dayton Public Safety presented misdemeanor charges against Devon Scott, a student-athlete, to the Dayton Municipal Court. Due to federal privacy laws, the University cannot release any additional information. Devin Scott has been removed from team activities, pending resolution of these misdemeanor charges. He remains enrolled in school and will focus on his academics and this situation as his priorities.

According to Dayton Municipal Court, the charges stem from an argument between Scott and the mother of his child.

Scott, a sophomore, was a prominent member of the Dayton Flyers team that made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.
