Urbana woman indicted for fatal hit-and-run

URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) – An Urbana woman was indicted in the death of a U.S. Marine.

Police said Gunnery Sergeant Monica Plank, 34, of Stafford, Virginia was walking with her husband in the 900 block of South Main Street in February when she was hit by a car.

The case was scheduled to go to a grand jury Tuesday.

Online court records show Holly Fowler, 26, has been indicted for failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence.

Back in February, Bellefontaine Police Chief Brandon Standley said the investigation led them to a local bowling alley, where they interviewed Fowler and asked to see her vehicle.

We’re told the car had damage believed to be consistent with the deadly accident.

Chief Standley said Fowler later admitted she struck Plank.
