WASHINGTON – (WDTN) – House Speaker John Boehner told Dayton leaders not to worry about future base closings.

During a meeting in Washington, D.C. Tuesday, Boehner told business leaders and the Dayton Development Coalition that while he thinks the U.S. still has too many military bases, he believes another round of closures would benefit Wright Patterson.

Wright-Patt gained jobs the last time bases were realigned in 2005. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
