DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police officers spent several hours overnight defusing a situation after they encountered a man in a Dayton neighborhood that had a gun.
Calls to 911 came in just before 11:00 Tuesday night from a woman who said a man was upstairs in her house in the in the 600 block of Shedborne Avenue and he was banging on doors and acting out.
Officers told 2 NEWS the man fired his gun inside the home while children were inside.
Police blocked off Shedborne Avenue to keep residents safe while they worked to get that man out of the house.
They eventually fired a non-lethal pellet, hitting the man and causing him to surrender.
The man is in custody. He has not been identified by police.
No injuries were reported.
