DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after getting hit by a van has died.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identifies her as Janet Glasper, 63, of Dayton.

Police say she was crossing Edwin C. Moses Boulevard near Albany Street when she was hit in the southbound lane.

Glasper was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where she died.

The driver of the van was not injured, but a special investigator was brought in to deal the trauma of hitting someone.

Police say a medic transportation van and an off duty Miami Township police officer both stopped to assist the victim until rescuers arrived.

Police are investigating whether Glasper was in a crosswalk while making her way across the street.
