Proctor and Gamble sells Iams brand

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Iams pet food brand has new owners.

Proctor and Gamble sold Iams to Mars Incorporated for nearly $3 billion.

There are two Iams manufacturing locations in the Dayton region, one in Lewisburg and one in Vandalia.

Longtime area resident, Clay Mathile, sold Iams to Procter & Gamble in 1999 for $2 billion.
