DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Police Department spent Thursday searching for a missing woman and her son, but turned up nothing.

Lt. Wendy Stiver confirms to 2 NEWS that the police operation to find Nichelle McNight and her son, Zaden, was conducted in several areas. The department conducted an aerial search using the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s helicopter.

Stiver said in a statement:

“At this time, there is no additional information to be released to the public. The investigation continues and all potential leads will be pursued by detectives. The Dayton Police Department will use all available investigative tools on behalf of the victims and the community.”

McNight’s disappearance came to light after the man who last saw her shot himself after a short pursuit with police this week. Another woman is charged with trying to steal her identity.
