Steer made a run for freedom

MONTGOMERY CO., Ohio (WDTN) – Holy Cow! The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a steer on the loose brought traffic to a crawl along Interstate 70 Thursday afternoon.

Traffic is flowing again, but the backup extended eastbound for a couple of miles in the area of State Route 48 and Hoke Road.

Troopers say a farmer was taking the 800 lb. steer to slaughter when his truck broke down.  Mr. Moo as he’s called, escaped and made a run for freedom.

Let’s just say cows aren’t the fastest moving four legged creatures.  It brought traffic to a halt until it sauntered across the highway into a field.

The farmer corralled the steer, but its future is probably not that bright.
